Description

Gorytale is a fast-paced adrenaline-rushed FPS shooter set in candyland. Player needs to survive the hordes of painfully sweet enemies and viciously ravage their lands with a ridiculous arsenal of weapons in a really cheesy story full of one liners, ridiculous violence, adorable characters, weird bosses and banal music.

Game focuses on the contrast between the crude protagonist and sweet environment. Protagonist needs to keep away lovely creatures because their love is getting him mad. For example, it's possible to shoot multi-barreled shotguns, rifles, cannons, trumpets, throw toasters and flip-off enemies, while creatures just want to hug and shoot air kisses. Player can complete a cheesy story consisting of three scenarios or compete against others in raw arena action.

Story begins with a protagonist being sent to Heaven, getting evaluated and then sent to Hell, specially tailored for him, which turns out to be super sweet place inhabited by overly friendly creatures who don't really know and understand the concept of Evil. Player movement and story flow is inspired by Serious Sam, while weapon mechanics are inspired by such classics as Quake and Doom.
